This e-book has not only placed great emphasis on my individual experiences, as the author, but also provides a social commentary on government policy and its effects on my community, in particularly around the period of the 1980’s and 1990’s. Until we examine, evaluate and understand what happened in that period, we cannot begin to fully assess what is happening to our community now.
This e-book does not go into detail on all aspects of Black-related employment issues, rather it brings together primary issues surrounding the plight of our community. It does this by recording, where appropriate, the relevant empirical experience of the author, sharing not only his experience, but also his views and aspirations with you, the reader. It is hoped that some of the experiences delineated within this book will strike accord with some of you, whilst others may find it eye opening.
HOW LUCKY YOU ARE
You cannot know how lucky you are,
if you don’t look very far.
Young one you must look far and wide,
before you even begin to decide.
Look to countries over yonder,
you will see poverty and deprivation untold, if you’re like me you will begin to wonder,
